I am a family doctor, a parent, a feminist community activist and I have a PhD in medical anthropology. I spent years before my medical training working as a social scientist studying health and healing cross-culturally, sexuality, disability, Aboriginal health, women and gender studies, self-determination in health, patient-centred care and healthy policy and politics.
Although I provide care to people of all ages and stages of life, I will set aside clinic time for well baby/child check-ups, adolescent health, GLBTQ health, women’s health (sexual, reproductive and mental health, prenatal and postpartum care, lactation support, menopause, geriatric women's health), attachment parenting, disability, and palliative care.
My associates and professional network at Common Ground include social workers, psychologists, massage therapists, dieticians, lactation consultants and others in the Ottawa area.
